Death Haus
The Game
Death Haus is a Flash-based point and click adventure game where users have to escape the house by solving a sequence of events and by completing frantic mini-games.
Death Haus was created in my 3rd year of undergrad at McMaster University. I was on a team of 4.
My Role
I was a designer/programmer and artist on the project. I also implemented the sounds. I created the game's UI, the visual look of the game, and designed the minigames. Furthermore, I created the lantern in Maya 6, since we could not shatter a real lantern.
What I Learned
I learned that creating successful adventure games require an audience to understand a logical sequencing of events, and that successful minigames require balancing and adequate user preparation. The project turned out well, and it contains many fun minigames, but it is too challenging at times.
